Renaissance & Medieval Events

The Royal Chessmen have been performing for over 40 years. We perform at venues of all sizes from renaissance and medieval festivals to madrigal dinners to private parties to schools events.

Our large performances for faires and festivals include living chess games (battle chess), street characters, and an interactive game called “The Quest.” Our chess games have 8-16 fighters and we can also provide non-fighting characters to fill the board, or you can provide your own volunteers (who we will give safety training).

For private or corporate parties, we can provide characters from royalty to peasants as well as fights and period dancers. We are located in South Florida and perform across Florida and the country.

Our company of actor-combatants have completed several levels of official training in a wide variety of different weapons and fighting styles, and our battles, like our characters, are larger than life!
